Haryana Directorate of MSME, in collaboration with Council of Scientific & Industrial
Research – Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIR – CSIO) is setting up a Centre of
Excellence in the state to give impetus to development of Micro, Small and Medium
Enterprises (MSMEs) through adoption of latest technology and focus on innovation in the
state.
Sharing more details in this regard, an official spokesperson said that a Memorandum
of Understanding (MOU) was signed between the Directorate and CSIR – CSIO. Elaborating on
it further he said that the State Government has been continuously working towards providing
an enabling ecosystem for the state MSMEs to grow and thrive. With the new definition
introduced as a part of Government of India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, the scope of
MSME has been significantly enhanced. In view of this Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar
Lal took the historic decision of setting up a dedicated, MSME – focussed Directorate in the
state. The Directorate of MSME shall function as the nodal agency for promotion,
development and facilitation of MSMEs &traders in Haryana. The Directorate aims to
proactively support, advise and facilitate MSMEs and traders on all the entrepreneurial know – how and business intelligence related gaps, address their business challenges, ensure fast – track grievance resolution and steer rationalised policy formulation.
The CSIR- CSIO is a Chandigarh – based national laboratory dedicated to research,
design and for development of scientific and industrial instruments, and is one of the
constituent laboratories of the CSIR. The CSIO has been instrumental in technology
development in the area of microelectronics, optics, applied physics, electronics, and
mechanical engineering. The CSIR – CSIO is implementing various RED programmes in the area
of food &agriculture, health and rehabilitation, avionics, snow and seismic monitoring in
strategic sector, landslide and structure health monitoring for public safety and bio & nano
sciences.
Furthermore, under this MOU, the Directorate of MSME and CSIR- CSIO will come
together to create a collaborative framework for assisting MSMEs in development of various
agri technologies such as Advanced Agri-Instrumentation, Advanced Spraying Technologies,
Smart and Autonomous Electrostatics Sprayers, etc. The Directorate and CSIR - -CSIO shall also
collaborate on various related projects funded by government private or other agencies.
Besides, the Directorate’s initiative to facilitate Industry-Academia linkages will help in
fostering a culture of entrepreneurship, supporting Research & Development (R&D) among
MSMEs and strengthen the state’s MSME landscape enabled by technology & innovation
